Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament  1995

The sequel to Micro Machines, Micro Machines 2 is a huge upgrade over the original. A racing game based on the small model car toys of the same name, players can race a number of types of toy cars, truck, boats, and helicopters. Though the vehicles are toys, the races take place in the real world, such as tables with obstacles like power drills and erasers. It's legal to drive outside of the lines to a certain extent, but if your vehicle falls off the course, it is returned to the last point where it was inside the lines. Players can play a 1-player race against three computer opponents, or with 2 to 4 human players. The multi-player modes aren't split-screen, so whenever the leader scrolls one of the other cars off of the screen, they score a point, and everyone who was off the screen loses a point, and the race resumes with all cars at the same point again. There is also a 4-player team mode, where two teams of two humans play, and score points for scrolling vehicles from the other team off the screen. There is even a party mode for 4 to 16 players. As for races, in addition to the standard racing mode, there is now The demo came on a PC Gamer CD and features no sound and only VGA graphics, but the full version also includes EGA support, as well as Adlib and Soundblaster sound. The full version also has joystick and mouse support, which should make the game a lot more playable. It took me awhile to be able to complete the first lap before the other cars completed the race! There are 50 tracks and 17 types of vehicles in this game, with only 4 tracks and vehicles playable in the demo.
