It made sense that Alligator Software would eventually make Vindicator, a Defender clone. Alien ships have invaded the city, and your ship must fly left or right to destroy them. The ship's movement is accomplished by scrolling the image of the city left or right and, sadly, the buildings are part of the background – you can fly right through them. The humans in the city can actually be seen being "beamed up", and will fall harmlessly to the ground if the abducting ship is destroyed. A map screen shows the location of alien ships within the city. Vindicator is not a bad little distraction, but I would be surprised if anyone paid to register it.
