The Curse of Monkey Island is the third in the Monkey Island series, and the twelfth and final game to be based on the SCUMM engine. Pirate wannabe Guybrush Threepwood has been captured and thrown in the brig by his archnemesis, the ghost of LeChuck, whose ship of dead pirates is heading to Plunder Island to turn their mutual love interest, Elaine Marley, into a ghost like himself. The Curse of Monkey Island features full voice acting and cartoonish graphics, making the game feel like an interactive cartoon. Clicking on things gives Guybrush the option to use/take, look at, or talk to the objects and people in the game. Humorous and challenging, Curse was well reviewed and a graphic adventure classic. Music was removed from the Net Demo to reduce download times. There are 6 parts in this game, with only the first half of Part 1 playable in the shareware demo.
