The last commercial game to use the Doom engine, Strife differentiates itself in a number of ways. Besides having beautiful graphics and full voice acting, you don't just kill everything that moves. The world is full of people you can interact with, and you have to complete a number of objectives while trying to avoid killing any of the mutant soldiers who roam the castle. The castle serves as a hub that connects the various levels. Weapons range from medieval to futuristic. Many areas are unavailable in the shareware demo.
