I tried to call him 2 months ago and I talked to her mother on the phone. I forgot to record the conversation by call...

She said Mike Pooler is died in the hospital on April 2008 and when she saw him the last time, he had trouble remembering her face, her name...

If you don't believe me, please call the following number and you will know all the truth of this tragic death.

I called that number about a week ago and left a message. I've just called it again and reached a young woman who told me I had a wrong number.

If he died in April, it must have been between the 27th and 30th, since he posted a promise to take care of the Space Bats issue by the end of April on April 27. I'm forced to be skeptical because, if Mike Pooler is dead, who is responsible for the GameTalk 2.0 relaunch?

The GameTalk moderator who has been helping me with this writes:
As far as I know, Mike is still alive and well. He has been doing stuff to the gametalk.com site, which I guess is a good sign. Problem is, it's been almost 2 months since it's been up. I wish there was more I could tell you, but I've been left in the dark as well. When the site returns, I'll let you know and try to get this rolling (again).

Nope, Mike definitely seems to be alive. He wrote this on the front page of gametalk.com.
GAMETALK.COM will return on October 15, 2008.

I know how anxious many of you are to catch up with your friends and other characters at GameTalk. I and the Mods miss GameTalk too- we miss each other and all of you.

There is a lot to look forward to.

We've used this opportunity to fulfill a great many requests and in general to rebuild everything from the ground up, adding new features and fixing up the old ones.

We're also taking this opportunity to move to a brand-new server that we've custom ordered! It will be many times bigger and faster that our old one and should be a solid platform for many years with room to grow.

I'm the founder of GT (I usually go by the name Mike), and I want to give you my personal thanks for your participation over the years. I'm pushing this upgrade through personally and will be around to oversee the relaunch. I'm in touch with most of the Mods and they too are helping and gearing up.

And he will disappear again when GameTalk will be launched...

Spacebat.net is already down... Maybe for always ?

I have no time to lose with this guy... Justice will decide...

Yesterday, I talked to Mike about the games and my money...

After giving my name and order detail, I got my money back.

He asked my e-mail for games and... a few hours after, I received them.

I've noticed that the version of invasion has been changed.

So next, I asked him if he could tell me the changements.

Mike's answer :
There are no major differences except that the contact info has been
updated, a few bugs have been fixed, and the end sequence (if you win the
game) has also been fixed.

Since you have me working on it I should have the Sequel ready to send to
you shortly.

Best,
Mike

That's wonderful news! After all the emails I've sent hassling him about it, I'm surprised that he hasn't sent me a copy yet (I paid $24 like everyone else). What email address have you been contacting him at? Better yet, could you forward me the email(s) that he sent you?

Thank you. Half an hour later he contacted me and sent me the files, so he wrote to me before I had a chance to write to him. He has authorized me to send a copy to everyone who has paid for the games.

I have just written to Mike with a list of questions about the progress of distributing the game to paying customers, and other interesting questions about his games and their future. I hope to get a response and have something exciting to report.

According to Mike, spacebats.net will reopen soon... I think he will process the orders at this moment.

I've tested the new version without any problems. There is no crach.

Let me know if you get more news ;)

Hi all.

You may remember me.

I also paid for the games and never got them, until DOSGUY helped me out (Many thanks) and sent me an older version of the game.

DOSGUY, could you please send me the new version of bats? (I guess your talking about v3)

I would love it if you could do this for me.

Thanks.
Nick.

I've sent it to you. It includes Invasion of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom v3.2 and Return of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom v1.1.

DOSGuy:

I ordered Invasion on October 28, 2006 (not knowing, of course, that orders weren't being fulfilled at that point). I only discovered this terrific DOS games site a few months ago, and spotted this thread only recently.

I am not all that worried about my $24; but if there is a chance, I'd like to have what I paid for. (Unfortunately, all I have for proof is my name, email, and the purchase date; I hope that's not a problem.) I appreciate all you've done for those of us who got into this mess.

Thanks,
Thomas Keith (insectoid5)

Hi insectoid.

Mike Pooler instructed me to "give it to anyone who claims to have paid". I have followed his instructions and sent you the games that you paid for.
