Based on the 1982 movie Tron, Tron 2.0 puts you in control of a program inside of a huge computer world. As in the movie, the program has a disc that can be thrown at enemies or used to deflect enemy attacks. The player has a number of new weapons at his disposal. There are also light cycle battles, which is more than just a game of SNAFU: light cycles can speed up, slow down, and pick up power-ups. Tron 2.0 looks like nothing that had ever been seen in a First Person Shooter before. The world glows with computer effects and looks almost alien. The shareware demo features light cycle battles and a 6 level demo.
