I think i had just my first 80486 when i did see and playd this game.
Loved it for a first sight, it was so cool but after few hours of playing, i was bored.
Same game in new candy box.

9 for first few hours, but then its only 6. I rate this as 7 as an somehow average.

I remember being very excited about this when I first downloaded it, but felt it was more difficult than it should have been and just didn't have the smoothness of Doom. As soon as Quake came out I switched to playing that all the time and pretty much forgot about Duke. I hate to say it, but this game was pretty much the final blow that ended my unconditional love affair with Apogee games.

I first saw Duke 3D running on a computer at some kind of convention back when the game was new. No one was playing, and I heard Duke say, "What are you waiting for, Christmas?" A lot of people still think of the Build engine as one of the greatest things to ever happen to games, but I think what most people remember most is the game's attitude.

I never liked it, I thought the attitude was stupid and the graphics were ugly. It seemed like we were all supposed to like it just because it was violent and had strippers and swear words.

I was impressed by the Build Engine though.

Environmental interactivity, inventory, good engine (with bundled BUILD mapping tool) and smarter weapons made Duke3D what it is. The humor's just an extra.

Before Atomic Edition 1.5, retail, OEM and order copies of Duke3D 1.3D came with a sweet deal of a free Duke Nukum and Duke Nukem II full versions on the disc.

Yes, that was pretty cool. I didn't get a copy until Atomic Edition, so I missed out on that.

An OK shooter that was completely blown to pieces by Quake. It was fun to play though. Some levels were nicely designed. The graphics were nothing special. Duke's one-liners were pretty funny.
