Talking about Duke 3D. I found this German Duke Nukem 3D shareware CD on my desk :D
(The CD is german, not the shareware)

Cool! :) I thought Duke3D was also on the BPjM list?

Anyway, what version is it? Does it have a fancy installer like the v1.1 retail shareware? And/or maybe some other shareware games from Apogee/3DR?

The regular 1.1 bbs version. Every mention of DOOM in the diz file is replaced with XXXX.
There is a little menu from the shareware publisher, but nothing special.

Censorship at its finest!

At least Duke3D has a parental lock option (IIRC they forced it in some full version release, not sure if it was in Australia or the US Wal-Mart release). What's more curious is that the beta version has fallen enemy sprites with no blood, but versions 1.0 and up only use the same sprites for enemies regardless of parental lock. By contrast, Rise of the Triad which has undoubtedly inspired many things in Duke3D, including the parental lock/kid mode option, has two sets of sprites for downed enemies, with and without blood. Makes one woner what considerations prevented the 3DR guys from doing the same in Duke3D. It's not that both sets of sprites need to be loaded into memory simultaneously, as the regular mode and kid mode are mutually exclusive.
