I'm going to try not be completely vague here....
I'm trying to find a game I would have played in around the mid 90's on PC. From what I remember it was a sidescrolling platformer but the details I can remember are sketchy at best. I only have three particular memories: a scene inside a dungeon, a rooftop, and tipping cans of paint over the enemies, which according to my memories might be ghosts. The paint is the strongest memory I have. It may or may not have been educational as I played it when I was a little kid.
Anyone?
Cheers, Sarah

Word Rescue comes to mind, with a butterfly spilling purple paint onto whoever you point to.

Re: Platformer involving paint
Definitely sounds like Word Rescue. Dumping paint on the bad guys is a major gameplay component.
Today entirely the maniac there is no excuse with the article.
