Games reset system time - a bug?

First of all, thanks for the great games for those days.
I have Windows XP. Games run fine even without DosBox/VDMSound.
But they seems to reset computer date after play (e.g Crystal caves) which completely destruct other programs behaviour which are time-based (eg. antivirus). And my system freezes and have to reset it!
Why is it so? Is it a bug? Is there a solution?

Thanks for reply.

Yes, I believe this is a known bug in some of the older Apogee titles. I'm not sure if there's a solution for this issue other than using DOSBox (which I highly recommend).

I think there was a patch for Bio Menace that fixed this issue, though. Anyone else have some more info?

Version 1.0 of Crystal Caves and Secret Agent reset your system clock in Windows XP. That's why Apogee released v1.0a for both games in 2005. Go and download the latest version.

A patch for a 14 year old game, that has to be some sort of record. :)

Thank you very much for your help guys and for patches ;)
3drealms/Apogee games are fantastic and their playability is great. And it's good to play them again. Those were the days.
