EM-Dosbox

Post by sk1re »

Hi,

there is a Dosbox Port for the Web in EMScripten (C/C++ to plain Javascript) https://github.com/dreamlayers/em-dosbox/
I added FastDosbox to the EM Port, view the 9th Post in this topic:
http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=38086

here are some Demos: (use latest Firefox, other Browsers are very slow)
http://www.divinity.x10.bz/emscripten/descent1.html
http://www.divinity.x10.bz/emscripten/doom1.html
http://www.divinity.x10.bz/emscripten/duke3d.html
http://www.divinity.x10.bz/emscripten/raptor.html

I can play Doom1, Duke3d and Raptor on my Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz - Descent1 is nearby playable.
I'm currently trying to get WEBGL working in EMDosbox.

Maybe classicdosgames.com can use this to play Games online without messing around with Java-Permissions and Certificates.

Neat! I'll probably use it for MrFlibble's and my games page over at kultcds. :)

EM-Dosbox is slower than the jDosbox port but for older 386 Games it's perfect (on my PC it acts like a 486/33). Maybe WEBGL gives a boost.
I did not knew about kultcds.com, i had some PC Action & PC-Games magazines back then. :)
