Are there any John Romero fans here?
Just wondering as we've been putting together some cool stuff in Retro Gamer. Would be good to know if people still love the classics.

I'm sure there's a good amount of oldschool id Software fans around. I still play the classics on occasion.

Well, I think I may be alone in being a long time Romero fan here, pre-Doom, pre-Wolf AND pre-Keen, and I believe Daikatana's ill-fated unfortunate outcome was from GodGames induced management errors rather than its design.

Pre-Keen? Were you a fan of his when he was still working at Softdisk then?
Also, I agree with you on Daikatana. That game isn't half as bad as people make it out to be and if they played it for a little while (beyond the admittingly off-putting first part) they'd know it.
