Re: Titus the Fox

Re: DOS Combat Flight Sim Playable Demos

Further on the topic of JetFighter III, the v1.31 demo which used to be available from FilePlanet does not have the annoying expiration date issue and thus works fine. I've found a copy of this file via ArchiveTeam's site and re-uploaded it here: JF3DEM.EXE

Re: Notable game findings with Hallfiry's coverdisk catalogue

For some reason the playable DOS demo of Screamer Rally is pretty hard to find. Shuffling through archived newsgroup messages lead to a site called 3dfx Mania (which I think is the same thing as the 3D Files). The page at that site mentions a 34 MiB file called srally.zip - which inconveniently coin...

Re: Non-interactive demo versions and screenshot packs

Doom II Screenshot pack: DOOM2PCX.ZIP I just realised that this pack is incomplete. The full version is here: doom2pcx.zip . The accompanying text file says: This is IT!!! Sorry about the delay. These are the .PCX files from John Romero's DOOMII demo during the Austin Virtual Gaming Tournament on J...

Re: Thread where I drop thoughts

BTW, what kind of sound is [ê]? ê means long e, usually. This is the first time I hear of such use for this diacritic. I would expect the notation for the long [e] to be [ē] or, more rarely, [e:]. I've discovered the french word "bribe" that means something like fragment, clump, piece, etc.. Adding...

Re: Thread where I drop thoughts

Sorry for a belated reply, I was busy at work. mans , probably french main or italian mano, meaning hand, thus five fingers. snêmans has the rotwelsch sneps as its first part emphasis added Is this something suggested by the author or your own idea? It's not like such simplification of a consonant c...

Re: Notable game findings with Hallfiry's coverdisk catalogue

Egeling refers to a company named Jürgen Egeling Computer Yeah, I already Googled that :) The name sounds familiar - I'm guessing it's mentioned in an order form of some shareware game or other. In fact, MobyGames suggests that Jürgen Egeling Computer is either related to Ticsoft or the same thing....
