Re: Shadow Warrior free on Steam

Cool, thanks for the heads up on this! Cheers! Please note the the above builds are *not* included in Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. They're also absent from Shadow Warrior (Classic), as previously available from the now-canceled 3D Realms Anthology. By Shadow Warrior Classic, do you mean the free GO...

Re: Tyrian 2000

It appears that there have been several mirrors of Eclipse/World Tree Games websites. Here's one with most of the graphics preserved:

Re: Some missing game versions

Transport Tycoon Deluxe Playable demo: TT_TOY.ZIP I found this on a magazine coverdisk using Hallfiry 's catalogue. The playable demo includes two scenarios using the "candyland" tileset. The version number is 2.01.119 and the date is 24 October 1995. Death Rally In 2009, Remedy released a free Win...

Re: List of free closed source games

Hello, and welcome to the forums! I don't list browser-based/online games because I'm not really interested in them, but feel free to drop any suggestions in this thread. I do not intend to update the free alternatives list any more, but if you feel that a game is really a clone/similar game that ne...

Re: Is there any interest in this?

Unfortunately leileilol no longer visits these forums. As far as I know she's currently focussed on optimizing OpenArena code to work on legacy systems, so not sure if development of other projects may resume any time soon.

List of free open source games

This is a list of games that are both free (as in free beer, but in some cases also as in free speech) and open source. Liberated (formerly commercial or shareware) games are marked with an asterisk. Third party source ports, if available, are listed below the respective games' titles. For a list of...

This is now a list of free but not open source games, both freeware and liberated (the latter being marked with an asterisk).

DOS games that don't need DOSBox to run in Windows

DOSBox is a great tool to run DOS games on modern systems, but I can perfectly understand users who would like to jump right into the game without having to go through the process of setting up and configuring this emulator. Besides, there are several inherent limitations to DOS as a platform, incl...

Re: Restoration of a few games' EXEs versions

Also, about reproducing original bugs in games, it's important to get feedback from other users who know to spot differences. This might be doable with Wolfenstein 3D, and *maybe* also ROTT, but I don't really see it happening with IPoG or even the supported Catacombs games. The availability of dem...

Re: Restoration of a few games' EXEs versions

Sorry for a bit of off-topic here. I just played The Catacomb Abyss shareware with your Reflection Keen port, and I must say you're doing an excellent job. What I particularly liked is: correct aspect ratio (it shouldn't be surprising but not all ports of DOS games do that, sadly) switching between ...
