Crack dot Com was co-founded by Jonathan Clark and Dave Taylor. Taylor had previously been a programmer for id Software.
Crack released one highly successful game, Abuse, which sold more than 80 000 copies. A second game for Windows, called Golgotha, was in progress when Crack went out of business in October 2008. The source code for both games has been released to the public domain.
